Has anyone ever bought a wheel from Chincessories? I also saw plans online on how to make a wheel, has anyone done that?

I have not done it myself but several people here, and other places, have purchased them from Carise (chincessories.) They do what they are supposed to do but are EXTREMELY loud, or so I've heard. Great buy if you don't mind the noise though!

I made my own just like Carise's. For about $10 for the pan, lazy susan, screws and nuts. They worked great for quite awhile then they stop spinning because the lazy susan bearings get clogged up. The noise wasn't really too loud but it is noisy.

I would recommend a chin spin from Quality Cage. I know it's a bit pricey, but it's worth it. My Sebastian LOVES his wheel, and it's not noisy, at all. Just my two cents.

I thought the wheels from Quality Cage were money well spent, after going through 3 Comfort Wheels in 3 months time. That added up to the cost of a Chin Spin in the first place! You gotta remember this is a pet you might have for 20 years, so $50 for a wheel that will last it's lifetime is a good buy!

I plan on getting a saucer after I get my FN, but for something in the mean time, I was thinking that this might work. It will be a few months until I can get the saucer so I though that I could make one or get that one in the mean time. Thanks for the replies. I think I will get one while waiting for the saucer.

It's fun if You chinnie doesn't know what to do with the saucer, I had mine in the cage for 3 months then I got a new chin that got on it and hauled but and all of the other girls said "OOHHHHH, Thats what thats for!!" LOL..

I have one of Carise's wheels. They are kinda noisy but they get the job done. It's a nice temporary solution until you can afford a quieter one.
The one I have now will go in the play area when I get the quieter one.

I made my own. It is noisy if you are in the same room but you can't hardly beat the price and its very easy to do. I have mine in my living room and sometimes watching tv can be a little challenging, but its not loud enough that it keeps me awake at night. Of course my chin doesn't live on his wheel either..he runs for a minute and then goes and does something else and comes back to it. He's never on it for more than a minute or two at a time.

The homemade wheels are fine, but they are loud, and remember that most of the wheel use is going to be at night. If you decide to go with a Chin Spin, the 15" is the way to go, the 11" is really too small for anything but very young chins. The investment of a good wheel is priceless. Your chin can run as much as it wants/needs and you don't have to feel guilty if you can't get your chin out to play some nights.

I have Chin Spins, and the chins love them! They are very quiet. I did just replace the bearing in one of them, but they have had it a year, and Scamper runs like crazy on it and she's a big girl. The Chin Spins have bigger bearings in them now....The wheel I just got looks heavy duty compared to the ones I got last year.
