Ok I have a few questions. When taxes come in I was going to get some FN cages. Being I have Male and Females and don't want to breed. I have some questions on how I can set up cages
1). Can I have a chin in each section or is that to small for them?
2.) can I have a male on top of a female or the other way around or could I still get babies? (this one might be a stupid question but wanted to ask and check).
3.) can I have chins that are not bonded on top of each other (Zilla did not take to other chins in her old home so not sure if she will here either, I would like to put her in one cage set Morrgains cage on top) would that be problems or could I do something like that.

1) I have had two in both sections, I prefer them to only be one to a level, but I like them to have more room than what they need. So the short answer is yes you can keep two per level. 2) and 3) Nope, if you have the levels seperated then they are in seperate cages so no need to worry. I will say you will need to get either the bass pans or an additional FN pan without the cutout. If you try just to use they ramp to seperate them they can bite each other through the ramps, and will chew at the cut out even if you have a fleece pillow case liner. They will chew fleec and all trying to get to one another to fight.
I read it wrong the first time, yes you can keep one per level.

If you buy the solid pans from Bass ( www.bassequipment.com - click on Ferret Pans) the top and bottom will be totally seperate, and you can house anyone you want in them. There is no way they could get to each other to fight OR to mate. I think a single unit on an FN is a very good size for one chin, as long as that chin still gets a wheel and playtime. I think one unit is just a tad too small for two chins to be in together, unless it's temporary.

I have 3, three tier Ferret Nation cages and I bought the whole Bass pans the separate them. I LOVE my arrangement. Napoleon, Jay, Leo, Rocky, Piper, Grace and Lily all have their own tier and Isabelle & Chloe and Ginger and Snap share a tier and they are plenty big. I put their wheels on their doors so they don't take up any cage room. Their food bowls and hay boxes are also on the doors. Here are a couple pictures.. Have fun!!!

Ok I'm hoping to get my first of the many FN cages this weekend. I called www.bassequipment.com and was going to order all the pans at once even though I don't have the other cages yet, anyways shipping would cost me 120.00 and that isn't counting the fees I could get at the boarder. So I'm going to have to do some more looking and hope someone in Canada carries something like that cheaper and closer.

shipping cost are just as much as the pans their self. If I can't find anything around Canada then I will be sending them to my mom's house and going to see the family for a pick up.

If you don't get the bass pans right away, you could put a ceramic tile on top of the hole and then put the plastic pan on top of it. I had to do that until I got my bass pans. With the weight of the plastic pan and everything else on top the ceramic block doesn't move. I love my FN!! I have 2 but am thinking of consolodating all of my chins in to one!!
