Austin has a tiny size hole on one of his ears...almost like it was pierced. Do those go away or is it here to stay? lol also, i noticed the ears get dry or maybe they just look that way...is there anything to put on them or do we just leave them alone? Sorry if thats a lame question, but I was just curious, cause if i can help the dryness, i want to

Fuzzy has a scar on his ear. Maybe the hole is from an ear tag? i do not know if it will close, but as far as the dry ears, you can try to use Bag Balm. You can get it at WalMart and rub a small amount on the ears

Sounds like the breeder removed a ear tag to me, it won't grow back.

Wasn't Austin like 8 weeks old when you got him? I'm not positive, but I don't think those that tag do so until they're four or five months old, I'm pretty sure it's not right after weaning.
I've seen small, pinhole type holes grow out, and ear tag holes close into a scab-like scar. Larger rips and tears generally remain, though.

Sometimes kits in a litter will bite each others ears to get at moms milk or they may do it when they fight for dominance. I've had a few kits with holes and tears made form their little spats

Lately the only way I can tell Max and Oscar apart in the dim light is by looking at Oscar's earring; he's getting very round. When Pam took the boys in, I think she said Oscar was really young and he was already tagged. I'll ask her. Max was born shortly after at her place.
