Hello all.
I received a message from a concerned person about chinchillas in an Alabama shelter. I thought I would pass this along here in case anyone can help out. Being in Michigan, this is about all I can do. Message I received is below:
Good morning! I went to the Birmingham, Alabama shelter (BJCAnimal Control) yesterday to adopt a deaf dog (and ended up with a cat, too) but saw they have a beautiful chinchilla...I talked with the staff about the little guy and I was told there is also a female who just had a baby. The director's daughter had taken Mom and Baby home to give them a break from being in the shelter but she was going to bring them back. It broke my heart for that little guy (and the ones in their way back) and I would have loved to take all three but I know absolutely nothing about chinchillas...
Is there anyone that can help rescue these babies from the shelter? Please help!!!

Thanks Kara and Tara. Wish there were more that I could do, but just getting word out is at least something.
