Well, Bliss started acting odd. Not playing as much, not eating as much, not herself. Well, I started watching her very closely and when she would run over to her water bottle she would try to get water and then whine. I tried the bottle and found it hard to get the water out. I went and bought a new water bottle, but the kind with a ball (the other had a pin). She drank it like crazy and became her old self, eating, running around, acting normal again. But this morning I noticed she's having issues getting water out. She runs to the water bottle and sits a looks at me. If I tap the bottle, she drinks like crazy. I do hear her moving the ball with her tongue, but she doesn't seem to be getting anything out unless I tap it. She is still acting fine and eating fine this morning. But what should I do? Or am I just spoiling her?

Which waterbottle did you get? Some brands have to be "kick-started" before they start working good and reliably. If it had a duck or turtle floating in it that would be the one.

Hold the waterbottle upright and gently bounce the bottle part on your palm. I normally do this multiple times the first day I bring them home. My theory is that every inch of the inside of the metal tube and the balls need to be completely wet before water will flow through freely.

Sounds like y'all have the same bottles I do, and yes, I pretty much do the same thing Leah is talking about.

I have those water bottles too and I can't fill mine up all they way or they won't work. I usually just fill mine like a half inch from the top(hope I worded that correctly..lol)

Yeah, those are the dripless kind. If the ball doesn't fall back into the tube when you turn the bottle upside down, it is dripless and the ball is spring-loaded. I tip mine at an angle after filling and give it a few good taps on the side to get all the air out of the tube, then I put it fully upright (in position it is used in) and then push on the ball a few times to be sure water is coming out properly. If you're overly concerned about it working right, use a piece of masking tape on the bottle positioned at the water level so you can be sure the water is going down after about 24 hours. You have to be really careful with those bottles to be sure they are working. Glad you caught the problem before it was life or death for your chin!

Mya, I know! I am so thank you she let me know there was a problem. I shudder at the thought of losing her because she lacked water.
