My little chinnies are 6 months old this week! I can't believe it how the time has flown by.
They are starting to act up a little though, and I'm not sure what the cause is. I haven't changed their food, hay, environment, anything. I let them out, and they are impossible to get back and won't come near me much. They tip their ceramic bowl of food over or chew it into tiny pieces and leave a mess. They dig at the liners and turn the corners over.
They aren't fighting. They aren't making threatening noises at me. They are just getting more restless and more detached from me. I heard that when they are 6-8 months they go through "puberty". Could this be it, or is there something else I could do for the balls of cuteness?

Your babies are growing up!! LOL! Congrats. It may pass, or it may become their natural personality. Don't give up on them, keep trying to love on them. Lots of extra playtime will help tire them out and they won't trash the cage as much.

I did that last night.... left the cage open for 2 hours. They were so exhausted! I looked this morning, and the cage is nice and pretty how I left it last night. Besides poop... man do those little things poop A LOT!

Are they boys? Our three young men just LOVE to destroy / redecorate their house! I don't think they've ever left puberty... Just look at it this way: They are having fun, which means they're happy! ;D

Ok, then her "ladies" are just redecorating. It is a woman's prerogative to change her mind! They like to rearrange their furniture!

Thanks. I'll be redecorating their home soon. They're finally old enough to have a wheel and treats! Wisconsin weather: it was snowing la few days ago. Now it's 60 degrees. Because the heat was on, the temp got up to 80 degrees. My poor chinnies! One hour later, after freezing the place with open windows, fans, etc. I finally got the temp down to 60, but I think it's best I get some cooling blocks and tiles quickly. I love rearranging their home and getting them new toys I've got to post some new pictures... they've gotten big and fat.
