These are the fur babies we currently have available for adoption. Tara had mentioned on facebook that we could do a switch during the Zoe/Zane railroad to get some chins up north so I wanted to see if anyone was interested in adoption. These chins are all sweet and friendly will be ready for their new homes once the railroad is underway.
Cinna & Pikachu
Pikachu is a 3 yr. old standard grey, neutered male chinchilla from Lakeland, FL. When he was younger he had a problem with hair rings, so his vet recommended having him neutered. The neutering did fix the problem (he wasn't humping everything anymore which is what was causing the issue) and he hasn't had a hair ring in over 4 months. He gets a check monthly just like the other males we have here.
Cinna is a 1 yr. old female black velvet female from a family who had a good heart but unfortunately listened to the pet store when it came to her care. She was on crap food, plastic cage, and was using bath sand. She was pretty raggedy when she got here but has made a complete turnaround. She is on a high quality feed, LOVES hay and loves to chew anything you put into her little hands. She is a very sweet, beautiful girl. Also, since I know some people are worried about females and their spraying, she has never sprayed me or her previous owner.
Pikachu and Cinna were housed next to each other for a good amount of time and they were always peeping to each other and sleeping "next to" each other through the bars. Considering Pikachu was fixed I decided to try my hand at an introduction. It went flawlessly and they have been best friends ever since. Considering they do get along so well and seem very fond of each other, I would prefer they stay together.
Luna & Shadow
Luna and Shadow are a 2 yr old neutered male/female pair. They have been together since they were both very young. They were initially adopted out to a great family back in January, but things had unfortunately changed for the worse and they had to surrender them back to the rescue. She said they had been awesome pets and was very sorry she wouldn't be able to continue to be their mom.
Luna is a hetero beige female. She loves her scritchens and is the queen of her cage. She has a huge personality and is very sweet towards Shadow as well as her human(s). She enjoys scritchens and general attention from her humans. She has never sprayed me or her previous owners.
Shadow is the quieter of the two. He loves his Luna and is always by her side. He isn't a huge fan of being held, but does tolerate hair ring checks. He does enjoy scritchens and is the first one to the front of the cage for treats. When he gets a treat though he usually gives it to Luna and then runs up for another. It's the cutest thing.
Since they are a long time bonded pair I will only adopt them out together.
ChiChi
ChiChi is a 4 yr old female mosaic. She is insanely friendly. She came from a member of chins-n-hedgies and was very well taken care of. She was on Oxbow, had quality hay, lots of chew toys, a good size cage with a chin safe wheel, etc. She had lots of attention and was around small children. She took very well to my 3 yr old niece when she was here and was even more playful during out of cage time with her here. She has had no health issues and is perfect when it comes to behavior. She never went through a "getting used to everything" phase here and just took everything is strides.
If it is needed, she does come with a good sized cage and a grape escape wheel. It includes all wood shelves, a coop cup food dish, fleece hammock, fleece tube, and a fleece back to the cage (to help with poo control). All I ask for the cage and wheel is for a small donation to the rescue. The amount is up to you.
(she was getting a little tired of the flashy thing here. )
If anyone is interested in adopting any of the chins listed here that are ready to go, please let me know! A chinchilla application is required. For a pair the adoption fee is $125 and for a single it is $75. For a well established forum member I am willing to lower the adoption fees if needed. The chins come with a 3 month supply of food, hay, dust, dust bath house, fleece hammock or hanging toy (your choice), treats, wood chews, and a 70 page care binder (if needed).
