My chinchilla chloe has been chewing on the fleece pillow in her fleece houses that I have been getting for her from Camphor Chins and I do not know how to get her to stop. She does have a lot of toys in her cage to chew on so I was wondering if you guys might have some advice to give me to get her to stop chewing on the fleece pillow. I was thinking that when I order her another fleece house next month that I could ask the person from Camphor chins to make me two extra pillows for the house so when she chews the one pillow in her house that I can not save it I can put another one in the fleece house.

My understanding is that chewing the fleece is fine and something they might eventually get bored with and stop. But are they chewing the seams? Those threads ARE dangerous. My girls used to chew the seams right our of their hideys! Honestly, I think it took a lot of talent... didn't mess up the fleece just took the seams out. After a couple of chances I switched them to wooden hideys. They don't chew any of the other fleece things in their cage. I know it is a bummer because the fleece stufff is so fun but you might have to take it out.

No she is not chewing the seams she is just chewing on the pillow and taking the stuffing out she does like to sleep on top of the house so I might have to get her a fleece hammock instead and she if she likes that instead of the fleece house.

Silly chinnie. Sleeps on TOP in stead of inside. That sounds about right, hahaha. Anything to give you a hard time. Spazzy used to sleep on top of her house too because I took out her hammock. When I put the hammock back she stopped sleeping on top. She also chews on the fleece a tiny bit, but gets bored after a few minutes. If your pillow stuffing is just more fleece thats ok but if its that white filling, take out the pillow right away.

The fleece pillows that the person from Camphor Chins made is filled with fleece not the white stuffing which I know is a lot safer. I just think that when I order her another fleece house next month from Camphor chins that I will have to ask Allison if she can make me a few extra pillows for the fleece house.

My girls will do that, too, so when I put in the fleece houses (mostly in winter) I use a chin chiller as the floor instead of a pillow.

I'm thinking about buying the wood tunnel from the Forchinate Chins website and also buying some hammocks from Camphorchins because I think that she will like the hammock better than the fleece house that I buy from camphorchins.

Awesome I really hope that when I buy it she will love to sleep in it and I also hope that when I buy her a hammock that she will not chew it to bits because I really can not afford to keep replacing the fleece items that I buy for her. I still love her so much so I guess that I will have to deal with her chewing on the fleece.
