I ordered the Duplex house from chincessories. I want to put it in the cage it fits well. But It dose not seem stable like if a chinchilla were to jump from it. It rocks a bit. Here is the link if you want to see it. www.chincessories.com/cageaccessories.htmAnyone have any Ideas to attach it to the cage so it is more stable Thanks Lots in advance!

You could put a screw through the back so you could attach it to the cage for stability (like attaching a shelf). Does that description make sense?

Yes it dose. But it is like 2 inches of space between the cage and the house. Would I just use a extra long screw?

I'm definitely not a "tool person." I would guess either an extra long screw, or one of those that has the threaded end sticking out and doesn't have to go all the way through. I have to go to Lowe's tomorrow to get screws for Dante's shelves so I'll look and see if they have something that might work. If they do I'll just get one for you.

Those are called hangar bolts, lol!

Yep, hanger bolts. And I learned a trick from a hardware store guy. If you are making your own shelves -- you attach one bolt upside down and another bolt right side up and they kind off "lock." Then you can easily screw the bolt into soft wood, like pine. I could never figure out how to use the electric drill to get them in until this guy showed me you just do it by hand.
I like the things from Chinaccessories but haven't ordered from them in years. Sounds like you will be all ready to spoil your new herd.

I use the drill, you just take the bit out and replace it with the hangar bolt, pointy end out! And if you are using a hard wood, it helps to pre-drill a smaller hole first.

I have one of those, but mine has a ledge on the back with a hammock under it. Mine is very stable, but mine is also only for play time. Good luck! They are wonderful houses.
