Fiona always tugs on the cage bars with her teeth, like she's trying to escape. She only does this late at night when she is active. Is this a normal behavior? Can I do anything to remedy the problem?
She also tugs on the left corner liner clip until it snaps off.

Spooky used to do this and shake the bars like crazy when she was in her super pet cage. That stopped after we got her QC mansion, probably because she couldn't get her teeth around the wire since it was smaller spacing. I think it might have been out of boredom or want of attention. She used to also mess with her water bottle until she was soaked if I came home and then went out again without letting her out of the cage.
Have you tried giving her some new toys/rotating them out? If it is boredom that could help. Maybe she's trying to get at something outside the cage?

Kiwi is a bar chewer/door shaker. She just has a lot of energy and wants attention. I'll second the comment about new toys as often as possible.

She does seem to have a lot of energy when she goes cage tugging. Whenever I approach her she runs back and forth in front of the cage and also sticks her nose through the wire spacing. If I don’t pay attention to her after awhile, she lays right down in front of the cage with a hurt puppy look. She has been cage tugging for months now.
I bought her new toys last week. She never used to chew on her toys, but this time around she has been shredding them like crazy.
My wife has to close the bedroom door at night from the cage clanging and rattling.
I’m concerned that Fiona might be jacking her teeth up.

Kiwi will actually start to doze off with her teefs still on the bar, ready for shaking. I don't have any problems with her making noise at night though, and she and Bella are in my bedroom.
How often does she get out of cage time? Kiwi gets out every night, loves attention, and will often hop back into her cage on her own.

Fiona gets play time twice a day. Once in the morning and again at night before I leave for work. The duration of her play times are anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.
Fiona hops in her cage once in awhile. She recently started sleeping behind my wife's craft cabinet when she gets pooped out. It's been difficult getting her back in the cage. The rose hip treats aren't as appealing as the raisins I used to bribe her with.
Thanks for your responses.

I had a foster chin Mali who was like that, drove me nuts. She was in a smaller cage and wanted out all the time, maybe a larger cage may work, don't know for sure though.

She will have a full size cage this month! I hope it helps out.

My girls have NEVER been bar chewers, Jonas, but while Sally was stuck in the evac cage, she went at it with a vengence. I was referring to it as Cage Rage. A bigger cage will help her to burn off the "crazies" at night.

I think Kiwi does it to get Bella riled up and because she just knows she's so cute. I'm not sure if I'm ready to trust Kiwi in a full FN yet. She's only got one arm left.
I'd like to add, I don't think she does any of this when there is no audience.

Chico goes nuts with the bar biting when I'm letting any other critters out for playtime. If I'm in the room and he's not getting playtime, he's not happy and he shows it. After playtime, he's fine again.

The only time Pedro does the cage tugging is when Fiona is out showing off.
Fiona cage tugs whether there is an audience or not lol.

Does she have a wheel in her cage? Once we got a big enough cage for a flying saucer, the cage shaking went down a ton! Keeps em occupied, and uses up all that extra energy.

Horatio does that. Kept me up all night with it too! I usually get up and find him a cookie or chew toy so he gets excited about the new thing in his cage and leaves the bars alone for a while.

I took the saucer out of her cage since she never attempted to use it. I'll be buying her another exercise wheel though.

Get her a chin spin, that should distract her and wear her out!

None of my girls have ever been cage bar chewers, but Keara used to be in a cage with wire too small to stick her nose through, so maybe that help. The wheel might help, though. Mine get on it and run like the wind! I love it!!!
