Also if you have a huge chin (over 650g) they would probably have a hard time running on them because the running surface isn't that wide. Guess that wheel is out for my two chunkers!

Pip has the Flying Saucer and the Grey Boys have the Chin Spin. Both are great but the Saucer is definitely more expensive, so I'd go with the Chin Spin again. I really do enjoy watching Pip master that Saucer though b/c he just dangles it, lol.

i got mine in from carise yesterday. it isn't very loud actually.. i did have to have hubby spray lube on it to get it going. now it is going great. Duchess has run so much she slept right through play time last night and this morning!
It is a tad narrow though.

^Would you recommend those wheels? if you are asking me, I really can't compare it to anything else. I did see a chin spin at the rescue, they are wider. I ordered a few extra for the rescue. when they were looking at the wheels, one of the wheels sounded very loud. Mine I don't hear at all, occasionally, it sounds like something rubbing together but my wodent wheel for my glider is way louder. There was a problem with my order being delivered as well. Something about fed ex loosing shipments. took 3 1/2 weeks to get it. Sounds like she is having a rough summer, poor thing.

I always say get the Chin Spin if at ALL possible. When I was trying to get Sally and Amy to accept Tami, it was taking forever so I bought one of Carise's wheels for Tami's temporary cage. It was VERY loud and the dust would clog up her ball bearings. I had to take the whole wheel out every 3 or 4 days and clean out the back and oil it so that it would even turn. After a few weeks of that I just ordered a Chin Spin and gave the other wheel to Joy. $20 for the wheel and about $15 to ship ends up being $35 anyway, and the Chin Spin is $46 + $12-15 to ship, which is around $60 - so yeah, it sounds like a lot to shell out at once, but if you get another wheel you are going to end up being dissatisfied in the long run and buying a Chin Spin anyway later on. Save up and get the good one first instead of wasting more money trying to go cheaper. That's my honest opinion!! ;D

I had problems with the wheel getting to hard to turn, too. It just wasn't practical having to detach it every few days to clean it and lube it up, and it was so loud that it scared the chins when they were running on it! I love my ChinSpin, it takes to effort to get it gliding and the wheel itself its quiet..the only thing that makes noise is the cage shaking from intense running!

That would be my next investment...Chin Spins! For now I make my own wheels like Carise. Some works, some don't. I agree with Kara, a Chin Spin is a better buy.

eventually, i plan on getting a chin spin. but honestly, so far so good with carise's wheel. It isn't loud at all.. Perhaps I have a loud house.. i don't know.. I barely hear it.. perhaps I got a good one? I did have to lube it the first day.. still going well..

I think some are quieter than others, because I've seen people swear theirs were quiet. I could hear mine from the back of my house, all night long...
