Ok.. not sure how to take this.. Today while cleaning Chica's cage, she got me.. Yep, she sprayed me.. She has some power on that bladder of hers.. It got me and went about 2 feet behind me when I moved! Here I am cleaning her poop and she sprays me.. It is kinda funny and kinda sad.. about an hour later, she let me feed her some hay through the bars.. still can't touch her. is this normal? and I still haven't heard back from Carise about her wheel.. Been almost 2 weeks since i paid.

Been almost 2 weeks since i paid. I dont have girls, but if she is still new and adjusting, i would assum she is just a bit scared. As for Carise, sometimes she gets behind, and I think she makes her own wheels. Dont get discouraged, I am sure all is well, I would just shoot her another friendly email asking how the wheel is progressing.

Girls spray, they can do it from fear or fun and sport like mine does. More than likely she is doing it since she is still adjusting, be patient with that little girl she should come around!

thanks for the encouragement.. today we are going to try out of cage time. I am excited. I wanted to give her a few days of getting used to our smells and all.. last night, she seemed ready to get out when i was making sure she had clean hay before i went to bed.. fingers crossed.. she is still taking hay from me through the bars and last night she even ate her pellets.. finally.. before that she would eat her hay only and maybe a few pellets but not all of them. i will let you guys know how that goes

i did get some shots of her and her cage, which i will post as soon as my hubby will upload them for me.

That's great that she came out on her own and went back in again on her own as well. I find that so much easier than carting them into different rooms to let them out. I've always just opened up the cage doors and let my guys loose.
They're in and out of their cages like yo-yos, eating, drinking, playing on their wheel/saucer or they just like to sit and stare out at everyone.
Sounds like things are going well for you.

I do the same CA. Fuzzy has the living room as his....He likes it, just means I cant decorate as much as I like lol In my old place and when I only had Pip, he was in my living room and he pretty much owned the place. Every single morning of my life I had to vacuum up poop, dust and a bunch of chewing debris, and dust off my TV and other stuff. I couldn't believe how messy things got. I do miss those days though of just hanging out with Pip for hours on end every single night. I still hang out with him and the grey boys but they've got their own room now, so I can just leave the mess for a couple of days if I don't feel like cleaning up. Having three is much much messier than having just one.

Trish, that is just wonderful!! Chins are just such fun little animals, I'm still madly in love after 2.5 years! Spraying is a natural defense. She'll do it less and less as she adjusts. Mine only do it now when they are royally ticked off.

Glad things are going well. Honestly.. I think I'd rather do hair ring checks once a month than have to deal with those spray baths..lol but that's just me!!
I know Carise had trouble with one of my shipments getting lost and she replaced it immediately! I know she is 100% professional and trustworthy. If she hasn't responded, she has a reason. Please send her another email. I know she'll get you taken care of!

oh my gosh.. i would die if she got me in the face.. lol it was on my leg.. still nasty i did hear from Carisse finally. She has her hands full at the rescue and hasn't had any luck with fed ex being able to locate the shipment. She said she was going to mail it out yesterday, so by Friday it should be here! Yea... I can't wait to put up her wheel.. and the hammock. I got some new pics of Chica.. she actually was still enough. I hope to post today.

My girls are bad aimers - the only time they spray ME is when they were aiming for each other and miss.
