ive had my chin for 6 months and in that time frame she always pees on the wall while standing on her perch. is there a reason for that? im learning everyday about my chin. but, i could definitely enjoy any advice about these wonderful animals.

My boys do that ALLLL the time. And I have wonderful white walls too lol. I dont know what can prevent it... or why they do it.. Just because they can I guess?? I suppose you could put up a guard or something... but then youd have to make sure its not plastic.. and I'm not entirely sure how that would work.. oh well, I just wipe it up and be done with it.

Are you sure she's a she? Peeing on the walls is usually a boy thing, unless she's spraying something that she's scared of?

I have a female chin that's so large that even in the corner on the shavings, she lifts that tail up and just whizzles right out of the cage. My cages are pulled out away from the wall, so it ended up on the carpet. I put a towel down and just wash it every other week.

I always have yellow "spots" in the corners of the room. I have started pulling the cages out so they are away from the walls. It makes it easier to clean if it's not directly in the corner. I don't know how they reach but they do!

MY ZeeZee is a wall pisser. I am going to make a fleece curtain for him. It would be easier to toss the fleece in the wash then to keep scrubbing the wall.

I didn't even think of that. I've got plenty of fleece. If I just cover those two corners they pee out of, no more pee on the floor...voila! Wal-greens has fleece blankets marked down to $2.00 and it's way more than a yard each. Better price than the fabric store.

Interesting thread. None of my three boys pee anywhere but in their pine shavings. Not that I'm complaining here, just thinking about the wall peeing problem.

Pip's cage has a solid back, so he can't do it! Max and Oscar must just be well behaved. ;D

I went to the fabric store and grabbed some fleece on sale. A good yard of it went nicely around the sides and back of my cage. Stops the pee from getting on the walls. I throw it in the wash and it's clean again. Easy and pretty cheap too! haha, I just read that someone else does this same thing. Probably the same person who recommended this method to me too!

I have to wipe my walls down every time I pull the cage out (it's catty cornered) I sweep up the poop and hay and spray down the walls and wipe with the magic eraser!! 7 girls get catty sometimes and pee all over the place!!! LOL...

You know, when I first got Chili he took a tinkle on my living room wall and I was sooooo mad! lol. The walls in my basement are from like the early 70's and are this nasty brown paneling so you cannot even tell if someone has peed on them! lol. I think the fleece idea is a lovely idea....Really if you do it the right way there could even be less hay, poos and shaving to clean...haha...NOT!

My boys pee on their treat box and food box. Luckily they are closed tight. I was thinking it was out of frustration because they are just out of reach. Sybil's a sprinkler system. If it moves then she's aiming for it. So far she only aims out at us. I guess the wall doesn't threaten her.
I swear by those magic erasers for the wall. They have saved me on many occassions (not so much for the chins, more for the kids).

My boys are all great about peeing only in their litter... Then, Miss Tiny came along... She can't help her pee pee problems..getting it on herself because she's special needs...BUT.. she pees on me.. out of her cage and onto the floor..AND the wall... LOL She does this when she's mad. She's "mad" when I'm cleaning her cage up.. I'm going to make some "curtains" out of fleece to put on the back and one side of her cage. I'm also going to make a high bumper that goes above the Bass pan to contain her fancy pee fountains. LOL Girly chins can be nasty.... I love her nasty little fuzzbutt, though...
